Click DummyBring interactivity to wireframes.
A Click Dummy is a Prototype of a website or smartphone application that has been brought to life to deal with the user's experience at an early stage. Especially for user tests, this type of interface is very useful, since it is close to real-world usage.
- To create a Click Dummy, prototype of the product should already exist, which at best have already gone through a feedback loop with the target group. In order for the wireframes/visuals to become interactive, the desired interactions and destinations should be known, e.g. which button takes users from the start screen to the menu, settings etc.
- The easiest way to do this is to use software (e.g. Figma or Invision) that allows you to create connections between individual frames. Initially, only a specific task that a user can complete should be made interactive. This way, it can be tested whether the application is self-explanatory and on target. Consider a scenario that users will frequently go through with their application.
- Once the Click Dummy is ready for use, it can be tested by different users, testers and team members. Problems often occur during this process, which is perfectly okay. If these errors are identified early, they can be fixed before the product or service is launched on the market. This minimizes frustrations from future users and keeps costs low. It can also be interesting to let the testers speak their thoughts aloud to find out which interactions they expected at which point, whether the user interface behaves as expected, a feature is completely missing or other. This method can not be done often enough.
